The Canada Post service disruption is affecting all mail delivery including Income Support and AISH benefit cheques.
The Government of Alberta has a plan is in place to ensure benefit cheques are distributed on time.
To avoid any future payment delays, Albertans receiving benefits via cheque are encouraged to contact Income Support or AISH staff, or the Alberta Supports Contact Centre, to arrange for direct deposit.

Important reminder the direct deposit and mailing dates for income support benefits are four business days prior to the end of the month. For quicker access to your payment, set up direct deposit if you haven’t already. For help or more information, call your case worker or the Aberta Supports Contact Centre 1-877-644-9992. Did you know that you can avoid potential delays by reporting early?

If you are not working or not looking for work, you can report as early as the first of the month. If you are currently working or looking for work, please wait until you receive your last pay during the month to report your earnings.
